Daria Chultsova is 23 years old. She has been working with Belsat since the beginning of 2019. Daria works as a journalist and a camerawoman. Previously, she worked as a journalist in Mogilev. In September, she decided to move to Minsk and try herself as a camerawoman. She usually covers socio-political, social topics, focusing on people's problems. In Minsk, she worked as a camerawoman during live streaming. On 15 November, she was live streaming from the Square of Change.
15th of November In the evening, Daria Chultsova, together with her colleague Katerina Andreeva, was detained in the «courtyard of changes». Hundreds of people gathered at the makeshift memorial to Roman Bondarenko. «Caring people» living in a building on the 14th floor offered journalists to broadcast live from their apartments what was happening on the street. The journalist spent five and a half hours there. After the protesters were dispersed, the security forces broke down the door of the apartment and detained everyone inside.
16th of November Chultsova was tried and sentenced to seven days in jail. It became known that a criminal case was opened against her only when the journalist had not been released after her administrative arrest ended. Her lawyer could not report on this, as he had to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
30th of November Thanks to the appeal against custody as a measure of restraint, it became known that Daria Chultsova had been charged under the same article — part 1 of article 342 of the Criminal Code (Organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order or active participation in them). At the moment, 23-year-old Daria Chultsova is in the Zhodino pre-trial detention facility. It is not known how long she will remain in custody.
